Refund Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026
At The Undercliff Shroomery, we want you to be happy with your order. If something isn't right, please get in touch and we'll do our best to put it right - we are good people and just want to provide you with great service!

This Refund Policy applies to purchases made through the Undercliff Shroomery website.
1. Fresh Mushrooms
Fresh mushrooms are perishable food products and are therefore treated differently from non-perishable goods.
Because fresh mushrooms can deteriorate or expire rapidly, they cannot generally be returned simply because you have changed your mind after receiving or collecting them.
However, this does not affect your statutory rights.
If your mushrooms arrive:

  • Damaged;

  • Spoiled;

  • Unsafe to eat;

  • Significantly different from what you ordered; or

  • Otherwise do not conform to the contract,

please contact us as soon as possible.
Where possible, please provide photographs of the mushrooms and packaging so that we can assess the problem.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement, refund or another appropriate remedy.
Please do not consume mushrooms that you believe are unsafe.
2. Fresh Mushroom Cancellations
If you need to cancel a fresh mushroom order, please contact us as soon as possible.
If we have not yet harvested or prepared your order, we will do our best to accommodate the cancellation.
Once fresh mushrooms have been harvested, prepared or delivered, cancellation may not be possible because of their perishable nature.
3. Merchandise
Our merchandise is generally made to order and produced by our fulfilment partner, Inkthreadable.
If you change your mind about a merchandise purchase, you may have a statutory right to cancel your order under UK consumer law.
Where applicable, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods and then generally have a further 14 days to return them.
Certain exceptions apply, including some goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised.
The fact that an item is made to order does not automatically remove statutory cancellation rights.
4. Faulty or Damaged Merchandise
If your merchandise arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please include:

  • Your order number;

  • A description of the problem; and

  • Photographs of the product and packaging where appropriate.

We will investigate the issue with our fulfilment partner and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.
This may include a replacement, repair or refund.
5. Refund Amounts
Where a refund is agreed, we will normally refund the payment method originally used to place the order.
Where you are exercising a statutory cancellation right, refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Where permitted by law, we may wait to process a refund until the returned goods have been received or you have provided evidence that they have been sent back.
6. Return Costs
If you are returning merchandise because you have changed your mind and your statutory cancellation right applies, you may normally be responsible for the cost of returning the goods.
If an item is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we will not expect you to bear the reasonable cost of resolving the problem where required by law.
Fresh mushrooms should not be returned by post or courier unless we specifically ask you to do so.
7. Refund Processing
Once a refund has been approved, we will process it as soon as reasonably possible.
The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account can depend on your payment provider or bank.
